Highway 59 Construction Project

The City of Neosho will begin a construction project on Highway 59 starting Tuesday, February 24, 2026. The project is expected to last approx. 120 days, weather permitting. This work will improve safety, traffic flow, and drainage along the corridor.

What the Project Includes:
1. Adding a right-turn lane for northbound traffic onto Clemon Drive
2. Adding a right-turn lane for northbound traffic onto Industrial Drive
3. Milling and repaving Highway 59 from Malcolm Mosby Drive to just north of Clemon Drive
4. Drainage improvements on both the east and west sides of the roadway and ditches.

Traffic Changes
During construction, there will be times when Highway 59 will be reduced to one lane for both directions of travel. Lane reductions will mainly occur when crews are grinding the roadway surface or placing the new overlay. Drivers should expect delays and follow all posted signs and traffic control devices. Construction hours are scheduled for Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Please use caution when moving through the work zone.
